Patch Cord Fiber Type*
Riser cable: defined for usage in vertical tray applications such as cable running between floors through cable risers or in elevator shafts. In case of fire, these cables must self extinguish and must also prevent any flame from traveling up the cable in a vertical burn test.
Plenum cable: the only cable permitted in spaces characterized as air plenums such as raised flooring systems and air handling ducts. In case of fire, this cable produces less smoke than traditional PVC cables.
LSZH cable: used in shipboard applications and computer networking rooms where toxic or acidic smoke and fumes can injure people and/or equipment. In case of fire, this cable does not produce the heavy black soot and smoke common with PVC cables
