About PM Fiber

Polarization Maintaining fiber has been developed for
applications requiring the light to maintain it’s polarization as
it propagates through the fiber. This is done with Stress
applying members within the fiber that create two orthogonal (90
degree) axes through the core where the light signal travels.
Proper alignment to the light source and alignment of the fiber
in the connector with respect to the connector key is critical to
maintain polarization.
